The Buna Public Library is pleased to host a Texas America 250 public-history exhibit, developed by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in partnership with cultural and historical institutions across the state.

This exhibit highlights historically significant “Texas Treasures” and explores Texas’s role in the nation’s story over 250 years. Presented as a traveling display, the exhibit features professionally curated panels with images of archival documents, historical photographs, and artifacts drawn from state and partner collections.

Visitors are invited to explore how local and statewide Texas history connects to the broader America 250 commemoration—the upcoming semiquincentennial of the United States. The exhibit is designed to be accessible, informative, and engaging for all ages, offering a concise but meaningful look at Texas’s contributions to the American experience.

Exhibit highlights include:

  • Archival materials and images from across Texas history

  • Stories that connect Texas communities to national milestones

  • A public-history display suitable for families, students, and lifelong learners

The Texas America 250 exhibit is on display in the library lobby during regular library hours. Admission is free, and no registration is required.

We encourage community members, educators, and visitors to stop by, explore the exhibit, and reflect on the people, places, and events that have shaped both Texas and the nation.
